Blizzard Entertainment developed a dungeon crawler, role-playing, action game named Diablo IV or written as Diablo 4. It is the fourth instalment in its hack and slash series, Diablo. Diablo IV will release for Microsoft Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There are a few features added in the upcoming instalment including re-playable levels, player vs player and open-world interactions. Enough of the intro now let us get to business (do I sound a little strict?) and know more about the game including its plot, characters, gameplay and of course the release date. I will share the official trailer too.
Diablo 4: Release Date
On 1 November 2019, Blizzard Entertainment (publisher and developer of the series) shared the news about the fourth instalment of the game. There is no official announcement about the release date of Diablo IV yet, but according to words, it will be the end of this year. However, I would advise you for not to get your hopes up as it could release in 2021 (expected).
Diablo 4: Characters
The characters are customisable (yes, I am not kidding). You can choose the appearance like skin, hair and eye colours. At the time of announcement of the game, Blizzcon revealed three different classes of characters that the game features. However, Diablo IV will have five of them during the launch. The known three are as follows:
- Barbarians: They are the ones who can switch their weapons even in combat.
- Sorceress: They are the ones who have elemental mage character type. I mean, they can wield cold, lightning and fire as magic. Among them, cold can slow, freeze or shatter the enemies in just one go.
- The Druid: They are known to those who played Diablo II. They are shapeshifters and possess magic from earth and storm origins. They change their forms from human to werewolf or werebears.
Diablo 4: Gameplay
The gameplay progresses with the story and quests. One can obtain better equipment by clearing the last level and defeating the enemies who grow stronger by each passing grade. There are different features like stances and silhouettes to differentiate between the families of enemies as well as players. In place of any high profile kingship theme, Diablo IV focuses on Sanctuary. This region, unlike the other, does not contain the procedurally generated maps. The last detail is that Lilith will return in the game this time and it is in an open world setting ( which means no loading screens).
Diablo 4: Plot
You might have guessed that as the game is part of the series, so the story will continue after the third instalment of Diablo, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. In the previous instalment, we saw that Lilith gets banished by Inarius. The reason for it is that Lilith becomes a heartless murderer to save the lives of her children ( Nephalem). As demons and angels deplete their forces; it creates a chance for Lilith ( antagonist and Mephisto’s daughter) to rise in the Sanctuary region.
