Gameplay: SimCopter
SimCopter is all about chasing and catching criminals. SO the gamer is put in the position of a helicopter pilot. The user mode is the free mode, where the player gets to fly around the cities that they have built, which they can import from SimCity 2000, or can fly around any city that they can choose from the given 30 towns. In the career mode, eight types of jobs are available to do. The jobs are Traffic Jams, Fires, Rescues (this might take place during fire missions), Catching Criminals, Riot Control, MEDEVAC, Transporting Sims, and Speeding Cars. So basically, the Helicopter has to keep a lookout for all types of things that might happen in the city.
For catching criminals, the Helicopter has to pick up police officers from the police station and then have to roam the city. They can stop the criminals by putting a spotlight on them and announcing the ‘stop criminal’ message from the megaphone. Criminals who run on foot can also be prevented by directly landing the Helicopter rn them, but this invites damage to the plane.
How to earn money in SimCopter?
The game allows the player to win money and points by completing missions. Points can also face deduction if the player fails to achieve a purpose. A considerable penalty will happen if the player does not complete a MEDEVAC or Fire mission. If any victim in a fire mission dies, then the player will incur losses. There are twelve levels of difficulty, and the problem will increase as the player keeps on completing the tasks given to him. Jobs are created around the city as the player keeps on competing them.
What are the helicopters and their upgrades that are available?
The player receives a small weak helicopter to start the game. The aircraft can hold only two passengers and comes with a megaphone and a Bambi bucket. As the player levels up, then he can buy new helicopters and upgrade to better equipment. The aircraft has to refuel every half an hour, and if it runs out of fuel, then the options are to let the motor run or crash it. Crashing the Helicopter inflicts substantial damage to the player as he faces a huge loss. If an aircraft gets destroyed, then the equipment, as well as all the upgrades, are also gone. The models of helicopters available to the players are Schweizer 300, Bell 206 JetRanger, McDonnell Douglas MD 500, McDonnell Douglas MD 520 NOTAR, Bell 212, Augusta A109, Dauphin 2, McDonnell Douglas Explorer and Boeing AH-64 Apache.
